We are Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, and we exist to see university students at Midwestern State reconciled back to Jesus.
About Chi Alpha at MSU
Chi Alpha Campus Ministries was founded in Missouri in 1953. Since then, it has expanded to over 300 campuses across the nation and even more affiliated ministries worldwide. We are a missions organization affiliated with the Assemblies of God. You can find out more about our beliefs here.
In 2017, the Lord stirred Kristin Gilbreth’s heart for the students at Midwestern State University while she was serving on staff with Chi Alpha in Denton, Texas, and she began taking steps toward re-pioneering Chi Alpha on the campus. She began praying for the campus, for the team she would take with her, and for the students she would meet once she arrived.
As of July 2023, Kristin and her team have relocated to Wichita Falls with plans to launch Chi Alpha in September. As US Missionaries with the Assemblies of God, they are in the process of raising their budgets to allow them to be on campus ministering to students full-time.
Our Mission
Our goal is to establish a holistically healthy Chi Alpha ministry at Midwestern State University made up of a diverse group of believers united in their commitment to one another and to the mission of Christ.
Our goal is to develop a culture of missional living among our students that results in sacrificially loving and serving God’s people on the campus, in the community, and internationally.
Our goal is to equip students to expand the Kingdom of God beyond their university careers through the pioneering of new ministries to transform the campus, the marketplace, and the world.
Our Values
Family
We believe that humans were created uniquely and in God’s image to exist in community, as a single family unit consisting of many individuals, all with the purpose of encouraging, teaching, and providing for each other for the glory of Jesus Christ.
Kingdom
We believe that there is one God, the Creator and King of the universe, and we therefore believe that when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we also must accept him as Lord and live our lives in a way that represents his Kingdom above our own desires.
Mission
We believe that when we devote our lives to Jesus, we are given a mission to be intentional, hospitable, and interruptible, living not for the benefit of ourselves, but for the sake of those in our lives and communities who do not yet know Jesus Christ.
